What will the donations be used for, you ask?
- Free drinks for anyone who's been in Les Mis professionally! That's right, anyone who's been in the show and wants to come hang out with fans for an evening gets drinks on us.
- Defraying collective costs. These include covering large-group gratuities at restaurants, possibly getting discounts on museum tickets, and the Victor Hugo tour of Montreuil-sur-Mer.
- Helping out fans who might not be able to afford the trip. Not all of us are rich, and Paris isn't cheap either to get to or to stay in. If you really want to go but your finances don't stretch that far, contact us and we will try to help you find lodging (possibly with another fan) and see if there's enough in the donation account to help with travel expenses.
Volunteer
If you're interested in volunteering for the meet-up please contact us and we'll let you know if there's anything you can do. Right now we need people with sewing skills who are willing to make tricolor sashes to sell to participants, because that's going to be our group identifier. Other possible jobs might include running Facebook or LiveJournal groups, volunteering to act as a translator and/or promote the event on non-English sites, keeping track of the guest list, or coordinating travel plans and matching people up to share accomodations if they want.
