route, et s'en alla rue Plumet par la rue Monsieur.&lt;br /&gt;

Cela fit qu'&amp;amp;Eacute;ponine le suivit jusqu'&amp;amp;agrave; la rue Plumet, chose qu'elle&lt;br /&gt;
n'avait point faite encore. Elle s'&amp;amp;eacute;tait content&amp;amp;eacute;e jusque-l&amp;amp;agrave; de&lt;br /&gt;
l'apercevoir &amp;amp;agrave; son passage sur le boulevard sans m&amp;amp;ecirc;me chercher &amp;amp;agrave; le&lt;br /&gt;
rencontrer. La veille seulement, elle avait essay&amp;amp;eacute; de lui parler.&lt;br /&gt;

&amp;amp;Eacute;ponine le suivit donc, sans qu'il s'en dout&amp;amp;acirc;t. Elle le vit d&amp;amp;eacute;ranger le&lt;br /&gt;

reconnut facilement celui que Marius avait d&amp;amp;eacute;rang&amp;amp;eacute;.&lt;br /&gt;

Vers dix heures du soir, un des deux ou trois passants de la rue Plumet,&lt;br /&gt;
vieux bourgeois attard&amp;amp;eacute; qui se h&amp;amp;acirc;tait dans ce lieu d&amp;amp;eacute;sert et mal fam&amp;amp;eacute;,&lt;br /&gt;
c&amp;amp;ocirc;toyant la grille du jardin, et arriv&amp;amp;eacute; &amp;amp;agrave; l'angle que la grille faisait&lt;br /&gt;
avec le mur, entendit une voix sourde et mena&amp;amp;ccedil;ante qui disait:&lt;br /&gt;

Le premier qui arriva &amp;amp;agrave; la grille du jardin s'arr&amp;amp;ecirc;ta, et attendit les&lt;br /&gt;
autres; une seconde apr&amp;amp;egrave;s, ils &amp;amp;eacute;taient tous les six r&amp;amp;eacute;unis.&lt;br /&gt;

successivement chaque barreau et les &amp;amp;eacute;branlant avec pr&amp;amp;eacute;caution. Il&lt;br /&gt;
arriva ainsi au barreau que Marius avait descell&amp;amp;eacute;. Comme il allait&lt;br /&gt;
saisir ce barreau, une main sortant brusquement de l'ombre s'abattit sur&lt;br /&gt;
son bras, il se sentit vivement repouss&amp;amp;eacute; par le milieu de la poitrine,&lt;br /&gt;

bruit, sans pr&amp;amp;eacute;cipitation, sans dire une parole, avec la lenteur&lt;br /&gt;
sinistre propre &amp;amp;agrave; ces hommes de nuit.&lt;br /&gt;

On leur distinguait je ne sais quels hideux outils &amp;amp;agrave; la main. Gueulemer&lt;br /&gt;
